Walking the Seven Paths of Mary Magdalene in Avalon

Avalon is not a place.

It is a living portal where the presence of Mary Magdalene, the Mother, and the sacred feminine lineage remain alive.

Not Every Woman Comes to Avalon

Some are called.

Perhaps Avalon has been appearing in your life again and again for years.

In a book.

In a conversation.

In a dream.

Or simply as a calling you have never been able to explain.

If you are here, perhaps it is not by chance.

Perhaps the time has come to answer that call.

Do You Feel It in Your Heart?

There are decisions you have been postponing for years. Patterns in relationships that keep repeating. The exhaustion of holding everything together. The feeling of being far from your center, even when everything on the outside seems to be working.

There comes a moment on the path when it is no longer about seeking more information.

It is about remembering.

Remembering who you are.

Remembering why you are here.

Remembering the deeper direction of your soul.

This is the path Mary Magdalene opened: a path of embodiment, truth, and inner coherence. A path that does not teach from the outside, but awakens something from within.

This pilgrimage was created so that this remembering can move beyond intuition and begin to express itself in the way you live your life.

A Letter for You

The first time I arrived in Avalon, I never imagined that I would return again and again for more than twenty years.

I also never imagined that those pilgrimages would eventually give birth to my book, Conversations with Magdalene: The Path of the Sacred Heart (Balboa Press, 2024).

Discover the Book

Over time, I came to understand that Avalon was not the destination.

Avalon was the teacher.

It was showing me a path.

A path that transformed the way I live, the way I love, and the way I understand the presence of Mary Magdalene.

Today, I return to walk that same path alongside other women.

Not to show them Avalon.

But to allow Avalon to reveal to them what can only be discovered when a pilgrim walks with an open heart.

It will be an honor to share this path with you.

Claudia Bertotto

What Makes This Pilgrimage Different?

This pilgrimage was born from more than twenty years of walking Avalon.

There are many ways to experience Avalon.

This is not one of them.

We do not travel to visit sacred places.

We travel to walk an inner path.

This pilgrimage is inspired by the Seven Paths of Mary Magdalene, born from more than twenty years of returning to Avalon and shared in my book Conversations with Magdalene.

The Seven Paths of Mary Magdalene

Each day of the pilgrimage is inspired by one of the seven paths I share in my book.

The Seven Paths are not simply seven teachings.

They are seven experiences we will live, step by step, as we make our pilgrimage through Avalon.

The Path of Healing
The Path of Unity
The Path of Alchemy
The Path of Courage and Strength
The Path of Forgiveness and Self-Love
The Path of Balance Between the Feminine and Masculine
The Path of the Sacred Heart

Because some teachings can only be understood when the body has walked them too.

The Sacred Places We Will Walk

Each place awakens a different aspect of our inner journey. During these six days, we will not move through Avalon as visitors. We will walk her as pilgrims.

Each place has been chosen because it holds one of the Seven Paths of Mary Magdalene and accompanies a different stage of our inner journey.

01 — The Path of Courage and Strength at Wearyall Hill

“Every pilgrimage begins with a first yes.”

Our pilgrimage begins here.

We will open our circle and make our first conscious connection with Avalon.

02 — The Path of Healing at the Chalice Well

“All life begins in water.”

The waters of Chalice Well invite us to return to the source.

Here we will honor the memory of the womb, the feminine lineage, and the loving presence of the Mother.

03 — The Path of Alchemy at the White Spring

“Every transformation begins when we dare to descend.”

White Spring is one of the most mysterious places in Avalon.

Its darkness, the constant sound of flowing water, and the power of the rock create a unique space for silence and introspection.

Here, we will journey inward.

We will allow what is ready to be transformed to find new meaning.

Alchemy begins when we stop resisting the process.

04 — The Path of Forgiveness and Self-Love at St Margaret/ Mary Magdalene Chapel

“The heart becomes a home again.”

In the intimacy of this small chapel, we will experience one of the most meaningful ceremonies of the entire pilgrimage.

Inspired by the loving presence of Mary Magdalene, we will open a space to reconcile with our story, embrace who we are, and remember that self-love is not something we have to earn.

It is something we remember.

05 — The Path of Unity at Glastonbury Abbey

“What once seemed separate can come together again.”

Among the ancient ruins of Glastonbury Abbey, we will contemplate the memory of the Christic family and the profound message of unity that has echoed through the centuries.

06 — The Path of Balance Between the Feminine and Masculine at the Tor

“When both forces embrace, the heart finds its center.”

We will not climb the Tor on the first day.

We will wait until the path has prepared us inwardly.

In many traditions, the Tor represents the meeting of the feminine and masculine energies, of Earth and Sky.

This will be a moment to integrate everything we have experienced throughout the pilgrimage and recognize that true balance is not about choosing one force over the other.

It is about allowing both to work together through love.

07 — The Invisible Thread

The Path of the Sacred Heart

This is the invisible thread that weaves the entire pilgrimage together.

It begins with our very first step and reveals itself fully at the end of the journey.

Because the Sacred Heart is not a destination we reach.

It is the way we return to our lives after walking Avalon.

The real work happens within the field we create together each day—in the practices, activations, silence, integration, and shared presence.

Testimonials from Our Retreats

“From the very first day, I had deeply profound experiences and connections with my soul, reminding me of who I am, my purpose, and my mission. It felt as though an inner veil was gradually lifting, bringing me closer and closer to my true essence.”

— @reiki.th

"What I loved about this retreat was how each day had its own intention. We would begin the day connecting with ourselves and then walk together to a different sacred place in Avalon. Claudia would guide us through a teaching, meditation or practice connected to the place we were visiting, and somehow what we were experiencing that day always seemed to connect with something happening within me." — Maryam

"It was a beautiful balance of spirituality, connection, friendship and simply being together. I left feeling very grateful for the experience and for the women I shared it with.” — Ruth A.
